I fix my own cars, so If i were in your position i would not pay over $600 for a blown head gasket repair. And that’s just for the labor. You will spend another $150 or so on parts.

I agree with deadhead. Unless the body, trans and everything else on that truck is in good or excellent condition, I would not spend the money. Around $2800 for a full rebuild.

The bumper is easy to get off, if you could forward a picture I can help you more. The plastic retainers are called X mas tree retainers and any Dodge dealers parts department will have them. Another thing you can do is to take it to a local body shop and have them look at it and try to reattach it ( may cost you 20 dollars )

Yes they have plastic clips at the auto parts store,or you may be able to use screws.

Ha ha don’t bother unless you plan on haveing the engine rebuilt. It won’t be under a thousand and you have to take most of the engine apart so you might as well have it rebuilt too.

right around 500.00 dollars, what is the mileage? if you have over 100,000 miles do not let them do a valve job, just replace the head gasket. if you do a valve job it is a possibilty that it could cause the engine to smoke. i’ve done many head gaskets, ive only had one to smoke after head gasket valve job,but the customer was pissed, good luck!

This is one of those questions where the answer is “it depends”. Here it depends on why the head gasket is blown. I would expect the job to run into 4 figures even if the head is not warped.
